A handmade 925 Silver ring, with a Boulder Opal, inlayed with a mix of crushed Chrysocolla and pyrite.
Boulder opals are found only in the state of Queensland, Australia, therefore it is more expensive and harder to get. Due to the dark backing provided by the ironstone, boulder opals generally have a dark body tone which leads to a vibrancy of colour similar to that found in black opals.
I made this ring inspired by the beauty of the sea and the shades of blue i'm surrounded with these last months. Inlaying is one of my favorite techniques and I love to combine the blues together. The blue fire of this piece really ignites the soul, and the combination with the more 'earthy' colors of the Boulder Opal really creates a connection between these elements.
